		Stopping for a quick picture after troubleshooting the network at Jockfall. Jockfall has earned the status of a haven for sport fishers, attracting tourists from all over europe.

	<title>Grand Rapids</title>

		Storforsen is one of the largest rapids in europe. The rapids stretch out over a distance of 5km in which the riverbed is lowered by 82 meters. I&#039;ve never heard of anyone kayaking these rapids, some say you couldn&#039;t survive them. The rapids used to go down two separate ways with a an islands of sorts inbetween them. But they damned a part of it, forcing the water to just one possible route, leaving the other side dry(ish), showing many of the giant potholes formed under thousands of years. Also leaving some excellent places for cliffdiving. The entire area is a nature reserve, though the actual rapids have walkways built to give easy access to the sights.

		Taken on our trip to Stora Sjöfallet national park. My brothers girlfriend, Vanessa, with a Tortoiseshell butterfly that landed on her camera. There was two of them flapping around us and they were both quite friendly. Even sitting on our fingers drinking from our hot chocolate.

		A water level indicator next to the Akkajaure lake. This is not the highest water level indicator, there&#039;s another one about two meters above where I&#039;m taking this photo. As I said in the post before this one the water level fluctuates with 30 meters over the season. In the end of the summer, when the lake is full again the place I&#039;m standing will be under water. In the distance you can see the Akka massif with it&#039;s seven peaks. Akka is a swedeified version of the sami name Áhkká (Old Woman). Akka also has the heighest vertical drop of any mountain in Sweden, 1,563 metres (5,128 ft).

	<title>Calm water</title>

		&lt;img src=&quot;http://www.toybox.se/thumbnails/thumb_20100520225341_20100515-img_5132.jpg&quot;&gt;&lt;br/&gt;
		The deceptive calm water at the base of the waterfall in Stora Sjöfallet national park. We decided to head to the waterfall to have a look this foggy morning. There&#039;s not much of a waterfall left though. Of what once was the largest and most visually striking waterfall in Europe, only a small stream remains. The reason being that greedy politicians wanted to harness the immense force of the falls for hydroelectric power. But not only the falls suffered, the dam built to feed the hydroelectric plant flooded the lands above, destroying hundreds of square kilometers of reindeer graising lands dotted by a network of around 150 small lakes. Today the depth of the artificial lake created by the dam fluctuates by 30m over the season, and the area of the lake from 92km2 to 242km2. Leaving a barren stone desert void of all life anytime the water reserve is emptied. To this day it is the largest interferance in Swedish nature.All of that might sound a bit negative, well because it is. They created the park to protect the falls, then ten years later they redraw the borders of the park so they can fuck them up anyway. But as sad a story as it is the park is bigger then the falls and the lake above them. And the rest of the park is truly magnificent. Too bad they had to go and completely destroy the main attraction.Map/Satellite image of location

		Went up on the local &quot;mountain&quot;, Ormberget, to do some mountainbiking. Well, actually it&#039;s more like a hill then a mountain. Road from home, over the mountain and down to a place called Hagaviken and then back again. This is a shot I grabbed somewhere between Ormberget and Hagaviken. The Fly Agaric (Flugsvamp in Swedish).
